Final Project is the kind of teen thriller that understands a school corridor can feel more dangerous than a dark alley. The Mexican Netflix series, titled Proyecto Final in Spanish, follows Tamara, a guarded new student who chooses cyberbullying as the subject of her final documentary, only to become trapped inside the cruelty she hopes to expose. Daniela Martínez leads the cast opposite Tristán Maze as Xavi, with Isabella Tena, Virgilio Delgado and Ian Sparrowe in key roles. Directed by Felipe Aguilar, the 20-part short-form drama was released on July 29, 2026, and makes the elite Campos Academy the pressure chamber for nearly every friendship, betrayal and threat in the story.
Where Was Final Project Filmed?
The exact Final Project filming locations are not identified in the public production material available at the time of writing. Netflix categorizes the show as a Mexican teen thriller, while El País lists Mexico as its country of origin. However, neither Netflix’s official title page nor the main launch reports from The Hollywood Reporter en Español, Infobae and Milenio name a filming city, studio, school campus or street address.
That distinction matters. It is accurate to call Final Project a Mexican production, but it is not currently possible to verify that its school scenes were filmed in Mexico City or to identify the state containing the campus. As of July 30, 2026, reports presenting a particular neighborhood or school as a confirmed location are moving beyond the public production record.

Is Campos Academy a Real School?
Campos Academy is the fictional private school around which the series is built. Netflix’s episode descriptions repeatedly identify it as the school attended by Tamara, Xavi and their classmates, but no operating institution bearing that name has been connected to the production.
On screen, the art department gives the academy a complete institutional identity. School emblems, signs, uniforms, green lockers, classrooms and larger communal spaces make it feel established rather than temporarily dressed for a shoot. Its polished appearance also tells viewers something about the student body before the dialogue does: this is an affluent environment in which status is treated as currency.
The uncertain part is how the setting was physically assembled. The interiors and exteriors could belong to one functioning campus, several separate properties, or a mixture of practical locations and constructed sets. Without official production notes or location credits, choosing among those possibilities would be guesswork.

Were Greengates or Eton School Used?
Two genuine institutions, Greengates School and Eton School, have appeared in online discussion about possible models for Campos Academy. There is no verified evidence that either school was used during filming or that the writers based Campos directly on them. The schools were presented as possible aesthetic comparisons, not confirmed production locations.
Greengates is situated in Naucalpan de Juárez in the State of Mexico, north of Mexico City. Eton School’s main elementary, middle and high school campus is in Santa Fe, Cuajimalpa, within Mexico City. That second location has occasionally been described online as “Santa Fe, New Mexico,” which is geographically incorrect. Here, Santa Fe means the district on the western side of Mexico City, not the US state.

Both institutions fit the broad image of an exclusive private academy. That resemblance, however, is not location confirmation. Unless Netflix, the production team or the schools themselves establish a connection, Greengates and Eton should not be listed as Final Project shooting sites.
Why the School Setting Matters
Campos Academy is more than a convenient backdrop. The series is concerned with surveillance, public humiliation and the speed at which a private mistake becomes shared content. A school concentrates those pressures inside one enclosed social world. Tamara can put down her phone, but she cannot avoid the classmates who have already seen what appeared on it.
The campus also gives the brief episodes a clear visual map. Viewers quickly learn where power sits, who controls a hallway and which spaces leave Tamara exposed. The cast explained that the 20 episodes run for approximately ten minutes each and that the scripts underwent repeated changes to make the story work within that compact format. A familiar central location allows the drama to move quickly without rebuilding its world in every installment.

There is a neat contradiction at work, too. Campos looks controlled, respectable and expensive, while the behavior inside it becomes increasingly vicious. The pristine school image is exactly the sort of surface the series wants its audience to distrust.
