Gossip to Die For follows homicide detective Quinn Walker at a particularly difficult point in her life. Recently widowed and raising her son Liam alone, Quinn returns to police work only to find herself investigating a string of murders connected to the glamorous world surrounding a famous actress. Her investigation becomes more complicated when Carter, a detective from London with reasons of his own for being in America, is assigned as her new partner. The city around them is meant to feel busy, wealthy and slightly impersonal, which makes the real filming location particularly interesting.

Despite the story taking place in the United States, Gossip to Die For was filmed in London, England. Director Nanea Miyata and a largely UK-based crew shot the thriller under its original production title, Deadly Gossip, during late 2023. Supporting performer Mark Sproston records working on the movie in London in December 2023, while other cast and crew credits also place the production in Britain.

London, England

London supplied almost the entire visual world of Gossip to Die For, even though the filmmakers were not trying to present the city as London. Streets, modern towers, residential areas and commercial districts were used to create the unnamed American city where Quinn works. That choice explains why the movie occasionally has a slightly different architectural texture from a typical Los Angeles-shot crime thriller.

The production’s British identity is well documented. IMDb lists the United Kingdom as the country of origin, Nanea Miyata’s own website identifies Gossip to Die For as one of her UK-filmed features, and the production design and costume teams were also London-based. The movie was produced by Benattar/Thomas Productions and Three Wise Monkeys, with Rick Benattar and Nigel Thomas serving as producers.

Hampstead

Hampstead in North London was one of the areas used during location filming. The neighborhood’s mix of older houses, narrow roads, shops and quieter residential corners gave the production a useful alternative to London’s glass-and-steel business districts. Instead of making every scene feel like it takes place in the center of a major city, Hampstead could provide the more intimate streets needed around Quinn’s investigation.

The location is mostly within the London Borough of Camden and is known for retaining a village-like character despite being part of the capital. Its Georgian buildings, winding lanes and established residential streets make it an adaptable filming area. Location reporting for Gossip to Die For specifically identifies Hampstead as one of the production’s main London bases.

Judd Street

Some of the clearest street filming took place around Judd Street, close to King’s Cross and St Pancras in central London. Outdoor sequences involving Quinn were filmed along the street, allowing ordinary businesses, brick buildings and traffic to remain visible around the actors. The location feels much more like a working city street than a purpose-built television set.

Judd Street was a useful choice because it does not immediately announce itself as one of London’s famous tourist locations. Its mix of hotels, apartments, offices and storefronts could plausibly stand in for an American downtown neighborhood once signs and small details were controlled by the production team. Other material was reportedly filmed around a nearby parking area, although an exact lot has not been publicly identified.

Canary Wharf

The movie also makes use of London’s modern skyline, particularly the architecture around Canary Wharf. Buildings visible in the finished film include One Canada Square and the cluster of newer towers around the Isle of Dogs. Newfoundland, One Park Drive and Landmark Pinnacle help give the city a sleek, expensive character that suits a murder story involving celebrities, media attention and wealthy suspects.

These buildings should be distinguished from confirmed performance locations. Their appearance in exterior and establishing footage does not necessarily mean Susan Ateh and the cast filmed scenes inside each property. What they provide is geography, helping London pass for a large American metropolis without requiring extensive digital replacement.

Piccadilly Circus

Piccadilly Circus is another recognizable London location visible during the movie’s wider city footage. Its screens, traffic and crowds offer the production a completely different energy from Hampstead or Judd Street. The location reinforces the idea that Quinn’s investigation is unfolding under constant public attention rather than in a quiet suburban police district.

Gossip to Die For Filming Locations

As with the Canary Wharf towers, the safest description is that Piccadilly Circus appears in the movie rather than claiming that major dramatic scenes were staged there. Public production information does not identify a particular sequence or shooting day at the landmark. The finished film simply makes smart use of London imagery to give its fictional American setting additional scale.

Deadly Gossip’s Planned Utah Shoot

There is an unusual wrinkle in the production history. Before the London shoot, Deadly Gossip was approved for a Utah film incentive, with principal photography originally expected to take place in Salt Lake and Wasatch counties in August 2023. State records estimated a local spend of about $490,000 and listed Nanea Miyata as director.

That version of the production did not become the finished movie. By the end of 2023, actors and crew members were recording their work on Gossip to Die For in London, and the completed film is officially identified as a UK production. No reliable public source I found explains exactly why the location changed, so it would be speculative to connect the move to any one production issue.

London ultimately gives Gossip to Die For a slightly unusual look for an American murder mystery. Hampstead provides quieter streets, Judd Street creates an everyday urban environment, and Canary Wharf supplies the polished skyline associated with money and status. The city is rarely presented as itself, but once you know where the movie was made, London is surprisingly easy to spot behind Quinn Walker’s investigation.
