Super Troopers 3 gives Broken Lizard’s highway patrolmen a problem even Farva cannot bluff his way through. Farva is preparing to marry Thorny’s sister, turning a strained family gathering into an extravagant Indian wedding. Thorny wants the relationship stopped, while the troopers become tangled in another drug-smuggling case. Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, the comedy reunites Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske. Brian Cox and Marisa Coughlan also return, joined by Hannah Simone, Iqbal Theba, Nat Faxon, Chace Crawford and Andrew Dismukes. Searchlight released the film in theaters on August 7, 2026.
The story remains rooted in fictional Vermont, but the publicly documented production took place in Massachusetts. Town records and local reporting trace the shoot through Concord, Townsend, Stow and Groton, where the filmmakers found a private sportsman’s club, a roadside business that could be converted into a truck stop, a bridge suitable for a large action sequence and an undisclosed rural property.
Massachusetts Doubles for Vermont
Massachusetts was already familiar territory for the franchise. Super Troopers 2 filmed in Belchertown, Acton, Concord, Groton, Hopkinton, Leominster, Marlborough, Southborough and Sudbury, among other places. The Massachusetts Film Office also lists Super Troopers 3 as one of the productions made in the state during 2025.
Returning to the region gave the third movie visual continuity without forcing the crew to revisit every location from the previous installment. Wooded roads, older bridges, modest commercial strips and large private properties could collectively pass for the troopers’ Vermont territory. The participating towns could also accommodate detours, emergency details and temporary structures needed for the film’s increasingly reckless set pieces.
Concord and Musketaquid
The principal confirmed Concord location was the Musketaquid Sportsman’s Club near Old Mill Road. The cast and crew worked there for several days in September 2025. Production signs carrying the name Ghost Pig Inc. directed personnel toward the set from the area around Harrington Avenue and Old Mill Road.
The private property offered wooded grounds and open space away from Concord’s busy historic center. Producers have not identified the exact scenes filmed there, so claims that it became Thorny’s home, the smugglers’ base or another named location remain speculative. Club members were asked to stay away during filming, confirming that Musketaquid itself was an active set. Local officials also said the production reused some places associated with Super Troopers 2.

The Concord Base Camp
Valley Sports and Marshall Farm are sometimes described as additional filming locations, but their documented roles were behind the camera. Valley Sports, an ice-skating complex, operated as the production base camp, while Marshall Farm accommodated the catering tent. Cast and crew were transported between those facilities and the set in tinted vans.
Neither local reporting nor Searchlight has confirmed that scenes were filmed inside Valley Sports or at Marshall Farm. They were essential production facilities, but Musketaquid remains the clearly identified Concord screen location. That distinction matters when working businesses are being presented to readers as places they will recognize in the finished movie.

Townsend’s Truck Stop
Townsend supplied the production’s most specifically documented commercial setting. On September 8, 2025, the crew took over Cherry Hill Ice Cream and converted the business into a fictional truck stop. Assistant location manager Alex Miller presented the plan during a Townsend Select Board meeting, explaining that the company had been searching for a suitable place in town since the spring.
The scene involved the troopers confronting one of the film’s villains after suspecting that a tanker truck contained drug-related material. A bomb-squad mishap would apparently destroy the vehicle through visual effects, while the practical gag called for a maple-syrup-like liquid to spray over the parking lot, the troopers and roughly two dozen background performers. The substance was designed to resemble syrup without creating the sticky cleanup problem of the real thing.
Cherry Hill’s signage was temporarily altered to sell the truck-stop disguise, and traffic along Main Street was redirected or held when cameras faced the road. This was not a storefront caught briefly in an establishing shot. The property was substantially redressed for a roadside action sequence connecting the drug-ring story with the franchise’s longest-running maple syrup joke.

Stow’s Duckneck Creek
Stow hosted the most technically elaborate confirmed exterior. Location manager Stephen Hartman needed a bridge that could represent “Duckneck Creek,” a fictional crossing damaged by a washout. After an extensive search, the production selected the Sudbury Road bridge over the Assabet River.
The bridge was to be transformed into a construction site, complete with a ramp-like structure. Cameras would film from different positions on and below the crossing, with the permit covering two possible shooting days and both daytime and nighttime work. Although the sequence was designed to suggest a vehicle jump, Hartman assured town officials that no car would actually launch from the bridge. The dangerous movement would be completed using visual effects.
Police details were required to manage closures and detours, while fire personnel and emergency vehicles had to remain positioned nearby. The temporary construction pieces also needed to be movable in case responders required access. What appears as careless trooper behavior on screen was one of the production’s most tightly managed locations.
Groton’s Unnamed Set
Groton is confirmed by municipal records, although the precise filming property has not been publicly identified. Ghost Pig Inc. received permission to use the soccer parking lot at Cow Pond for employees while Super Troopers 3 filmed “down the street.” The production contributed $2,500 to the Parks Department and was granted limited use of the parking area from Thursday through Friday evening.
Cow Pond was therefore a crew parking and transportation point, not a verified on-screen setting. The real Groton location was nearby, but the Park Commission minutes do not disclose the road, building or landowner. Several exact addresses have circulated online, yet none has been sufficiently supported by a permit, property owner or production statement. Groton belongs on the filming map; the particular private property remains undisclosed.

The Wedding Estate
Farva’s wedding is the movie’s largest visual event. Searchlight’s official production notes describe the outdoor portion as being filmed on an expansive estate with a broad green lawn. The sequence involved dancers, decorative tents, drone photography, pyrotechnics, visual effects and a mock elephant used for Farva’s extravagant entrance. The interiors of the wedding tents were subsequently reconstructed on soundstages.
Neither the estate nor the soundstage facility has been officially named. Various Massachusetts mansions have been proposed as possible matches, but publicly available first-party records do not settle the question. The same uncertainty surrounds the property used for Thorny’s residence. Until Searchlight, the location department or a property owner confirms those sites, assigning them to a specific address would amount to visual guesswork.
When Was Super Troopers 3 Filmed?
Broken Lizard announced that production had started on August 20, 2025. The company was still working in Massachusetts during September, and production was reported wrapped on October 2.
Second second assistant director Tony Scelsi later offered a more precise account of the schedule. According to Scelsi, Super Troopers 3 completed 28 production days, including only 20 shooting days. The active filming schedule was therefore compact, even though the publicly visible production window stretched across roughly six weeks.
The finished movie assembles its Vermont from several Massachusetts communities. Concord provided a secluded woodland property and the operational base. Townsend transformed an ice cream shop into a maple-syrup-soaked crime scene. Stow supplied the damaged “Duckneck Creek” bridge, while Groton concealed another set beyond a municipal parking area. These are deliberately ordinary New England places, which is precisely why they suit Super Troopers 3: the more believable the town looks, the more absurd the troopers become when they start tearing through it.
